Jy Norvin’s magical journey began in mid-2008, when he joined the Republic Polytechnic Magic Interest Group initially as a hobby. His stage magic career was given a jumpstart in early 2009 with performances in charity events, old folks’ homes, children’s shows, various corporate and shopping centre events, schools as well as competitions since. Notable events include the iconic Chingay Parade and the annual President’s Challenge in 2009 and the Youth Olympic Games in 2010.
Jy Norvin reached the finals of Singapore Flyer Street Magic Competition 2009. In 2011, he was awarded an impressive full score by an international magician from Australia in the close up category.
In 2014, he was the finalist for Magic Warehouse Competition organised by Lawrence and Priscilla Khong. On the same year, he was awarded 1st runner up for his category and his team received the championship title for Fantabulous Magic Challenge 2014. He participated another Singapore magic competition ”Stars Of Magic 2014” and won the 3rd place.
